If you have dropped by because you have seen this rather random blog hovering about on the internet and are wondering what it’s all about, firstly; thank you for visiting, and secondly let me introduce you to my world.
I have been thinking about setting up something like this blog for a long time, it’s always been at the back of my mind. For those of you who follow the sister blog; Chicks, Rogues and Scandals, you will already know me, if not take a peek at the ‘About’ page which will give you all the information needed, but in short; I’m Frankie, I hail from Bronte county, I’m a carer for my mum and two devil dogs (I knew I should have stuck with my much loved Staffy breed instead of taking a plunge with ratting terriers😂 ). I’ve been blogging and reviewing on my other blog; Chicks, Rogues and Scandals for the past six years (I think it’s six years, or is it seven?) over the years I have dabbled in setting up other blogs, ones for sharing my dabbling in writing (that is still a work in progress) ones for genealogy, another blog for reviews and most recently a blog which is very similar to this, only I’m a bit lazy and couldn’t be asked to keep up with the social media and maintenance.
So, why is The Rambling Romantic different to those which have gone before?
It’s different because I am coming to terms with my laziness, and I am not putting pressure on myself to push out the posts daily or constantly be online. Done all that, go the T-Shirt. No, this is all about having fun and going at a nice leisurely pace.
I have always wanted to set up somewhere I can solely share my love for romance books, and the genre as a whole. A place where I can waffle about pretty much anything I want, whether that is swooning over handsome bookish heroes, or sharing snippets of history I find interesting, I may share what I am currently working on, but don’t expect too much as I am a little ditzy and can never commit to actually finishing the first draft.😂 Plus taking you all along on long-winded rambled walks with the dogs, maybe a few doggo posts too. Basically, this is somewhere to relax and have fun, unwind and support each other and celebrate this wonderful genre and the amazing people within it.
If you have looked around the blog already, you will have noticed that there are quite a few posts which start with ‘this was originally posted on Chicks, Rogues and Scandals’ well that is because I have transferred a lot of my non-review posts over here, as I think that those particular posts fit better with what I am wanting The Rambling Romantic to be about – and that I am currently running out of precious space on Chicks, Rogues and Scandals so instead of deleting posts forever I have changed their address. All post’s from now on will be exclusive to the Rambling Romantic either written by me (spelling mistakes and all) or by those who wish to write a guest article.

This blog is open to guest posts and maybe interviews (in time) from anyone within the romance genre sphere; authors, reviewers and readers, as long as you love romance and the article falls into or around the many themes and subjects I am trying to cover, plus I am always open featuring your book on the ‘Featured Books’ page.
Below you will find a few themes of the articles this blog will cover.
- Romance Book, eg; what’re your favourite books/tropes, book spotlights.
- Book Hero/Heroine, eg; putting a face to characters, your favourite character and why, the romantic hero (I have a few of those posts on the blog already)
- Writing and /or Advice
- Reading/Reviewing, eg; tips and advice on reviewing, getting to know the reviewer
- History posts which relate to what you write, women’s history, history of romance.
- Mental health and Well-being, eg; being Happy in a chaotic world, crafting and art, walking, baking (whatever makes you happy and brings peace)
- A day in the life of a romance author and/or reviewer/reader.
Over time I will be posting my own ‘Getting to know the romance reader/ reviewer’, ‘Bookish Romance Heroes’, and ‘Day in the life of a Reader/Reviewer’.
I am really excited about this new venture into the blogging world and excited to share my vision and my rather rambled and eclectic posts with you all. I am not giving up reviewing on my other blog; Chicks, Rogues and Scandals, I have slowed down but I haven’t packed away my reviewing life, I just prefer a slower-paced, less stressful approach to blogging now which suits me. People who follow Chicks, Rogues and Scandals will know that by the end of last year, I became over-awed by the amount of blog tour commitments I had taken on and mixed with my own personal life as a carer that took a huge strain on me and at one moment I did lose my love for blogging and completely lost my reading mojo too. Thankfully that has returned and now I am not drowning in review copies and tours I am thoroughly enjoying my reading, plus I have more time to actually post those reviews (when I wrote them, I said I was ditzy) and more importantly I can finally get this blog; The Rambling Romantic up an running.
As I said, I am excited about this project and I hope you will join me on this new venture, even if I only post one article a week or a monthly round-up/magazine, I hope you will stick around while I settle in and I will repeat myself here and say again if you are interested in taking part with an article then do get in touch via the Contact Me page.
